Noah and Elizabeth

The beginning of February we received a visit from Aliisa's pen-pal (and close friend) from Kansas, Elizabeth, and Elizabeth's brother Noah. This was the first time any of our family (besides Ali) got to meet Noah.
Elizabeth and Mom had been planning the visit for a few weeks and were hoping to surprise Aliisa, but told her 2 days before they came. We did keep Noah's coming a surprise from Isaac & Zack. The looks on their faces when he walked in was great!!

Sweet Elizabeth!!

The little girls had a blast playing dress-up with Noah!

Here Noah is a guard, Elsie is the Queen and Grace is another guard.
(note: the guards are very grim, and standing at attention, ready to protect their queen!)

This time Noah is the Queen (isn't he lovely?!) and Emmy and Grace are the guards!

Of course you must have a princess!!

Anja, Noah and Grace

Every time Noah sat down he had at least 2 girls on his lap. Once he had 3 on his lap, which resulted in . . . . .

. . . . . the chair tipping over!
(Emmy had already climbed off!)

Elizabeth holding Jake, who absolutely loved her!

The Poker Players: Isaac, Noah, Zack and Aleks
The glasses were supposed to help hide your reaction . . . but they soon found out, sometimes you can see the other person's cards in the reflection from the lenses!

Elizabeth & Aliisa

Well, we were trying to get a nice picture of the guys, but it wasn't working!

Noah, Isaac & Zack - this is as good as it got!
We also . . . . .
  • Went to the Golden Corral (yum!)
  • Taught Noah 1/2 of the square dance moves in about 2 1/2 hours
  • Went to a square dance (which was a BLAST!)
  • Stayed up till 1am, 2am and 3am each night (well, the girls did anyway!)
  • Watched movies
  • Had an interesting car-ride
  • Were saddened when our visit was unexpectedly shortened due to bad weather
  • and talked, talked, and talked some more!!!
We had so much fun with you guys!! Hope to see you again soon!

Awwwww.....this post makes me miss you guys SOOO much!!
It was so sad that our visit was called short, except that Ali got to drive with us!! The one thing we didn't do was laugh hysterically while ordering at a drive-thru resturant!! :) I thought about it when we were at Culvers, but really was not in the mood for laughing like that (after all, we were leaving!! :()!!! We'll have to remember that next time!! :) haha!
Jake is such a cutie-- I miss him!!
Noah loved being at your house-- for once he was actually popular with the ladies!!! :)
We had such a wonderful time!! Thanks so very much for having us!! Now it's our turn to have you guys here!!
Miss you Ali!!
Love Ya!

It was a blast with them here!! It was a complete surprise when Noah came, I wasn't expecting it at all!!

It was a short weekend of sleep, but it was worth it. Tell Noah I said hi, and am praying about his car.

Elizabeth,
Well, I'm sure we would've had no problem laughing so hard, we couldn't order! Especially with Noah laughing, and us laughing at him! Like you said, we'll have to save it for next time!
I, too, think it's our turn to come down for a visit!! Maybe Ike and I can drive down sometime. That would be so fun!
Miss you so much!
Love you,
Aliisa

HAHAHA Noah must be a really good sport. It's really sweet that he plays with the little girls though. :)

Yes, it's your turn to come visit!! That would be so much fun it you could drive down sometime-- but leave Ike at home! :) Seriously though, it's be a blast if you drove down for a visit!! Once the weather gets nicer, and there is no threat of a storm making you have to leave early, we'll have to plan something!! Or maybe our families could meet halfway.....we'll just have to wait and pray!!
Yesterday Seth had roses delivered here for Mom and us girls for Valentines Day!! They are SO beautiful!! There are seven red roses, 3 yellow and 2 pink. We were all so shocked and surprised!! It was so sweet of him!

It's actually supposed to get above freezing today-- it's been SO cold this week!! Noah left his lunch in the car on Monday and everything was frozen!! He ate his sandwich but he couldn't even bite into his apple!! I hope it warms up!
Well, gotta run!!
Love and Miss you, Ali!!

I would much rather leave Ike at home . . . . but driving that far I'd need protection (well, at least he's good for something! ;P) and it'd be nice to have an extra driver!

Roses?! How sweet! Roses are so pretty!! That sounds like something Ike would do - if he remembered it was Valentine's day! :) I even forgot it was Valentine's day today, so I guess I can't blame him!
Brrrr! That's cold! It was really cold here over the weekend, but now that we have a lot of snow it's actually warmed up a little.

It's crazy - last night we got home from the game around 10:45pm (long story . . . ) and this morning all the girls were up before 7am! And I was thinking I'd let them sleep in because it was so late when we got home, but they got up earlier than usual!

Well, I have to run. Of course, this goes without saying, but I MISS YOU!!!!!

Love you,
Aliisa

I wouldn't want you to have to drive by yourself, so I guess you'll have to bring him so he can protect you!!! Noah will be thrilled! :) (oh dear!)
It's freezing again today!!!
By the way, have you finished the Hornblower movies?? We watched the last episode last night- they are really good!! Did you watch the set of 4 or the set of 2 first? We watched the 4, then the 2. The only thing was they started the series while Noah and I were gone so we've only seen the first one, nad then the last two!

All of us girls were shocked with the roses--- it was exactly the type of thing he does, but we weren't expecting him to remember Valentines Day! Dad gave all of us girls brownies and the boys ice-cream for V.D. He cut out zillions of paper hearts and taped them to the brownie boxes and scattered them over the table, it was so sweet!!
I've been praying for you--especially last night! I'll continue to be praying for you and try not to take up too much of your time by commenting or emailing!! :) And if the boys ever start misbehaving, just send 'em to Kansas and I'll have Seth or Noah whip 'em into shape!! :)

Miss you!!!
Lots of Love,
~Elizabeth
